GIRL SCOUT MEMBERSHIP PINS
OLD EAGLE LOGO,
1940 TO 1979
There are many design varieties of the Girl Scout membership pin.  The most common style ran from approximately 1940 through 1979 when the new Profiles Logo was introduced in 1980.  We called them Type 5 because it was the fifth change in design since 1914.  When you look at these pictures, hopefully you will say,
"but they all look the same from the front."  Of course, you are right, but that is the point of having them all as one "type."
All of the type 5 pins have the following in common:  7 arrows at staggered lengths in the eagle's claw, and an olive branch in the other claw, 4 stars, bent legs on the eagle, 11 wing-feathers, and a ribbon in the mouth of the eagle.
The differences in these listings are the HALLMARK and the CATCH
each of which will be stated and pictured.
Except for the last two choices which are NEW on the ORIGINAL CARDS, the rest are pre-owned and in varying degrees of use.  Most have been removed from a uniform or sash, and most of the age shows mainly on the back.
THERE IS NO BLACK ON ANY OF THESE PINS
