GemOro Superior Instruments did it again. The Duo-View Darkfield Loupe with its innovative design and features make all other traditional darkfield loupes obsolete. whether one is a professional jeweler, diamond dealer, or gemologist, this dual loupe will prove very handy.
This is a hands-free instrument that will help detect hard to see inclusions on either Diamonds or colored gemstones. Included is a hands-free microscope type gem tweezer that is integrated to the loupe but which detaches from it. I use it on my Meiji PBS stand too. The tweezer is designed to rotate freely in any direction and I often use it that way. The gemstone can be illuminated from either the side or the bottom. 10X for the bottom and 20X. Both are hastings triplet lenses. This unit is built out of solid metal to last through the ages and comes in a heavy duty carrying case. Please see picture for reference.
I have two of these units and thus can afford to let one go. This unit is very difficult to find. Top notch. If you get it you will be glad you did. The last time I saw one on EBAY was about 3 years ago and it was not in this good a shape. I have used it for years to my full satisfaction. Using a 20X hand-loupe requires more skill and experience than using a 10X loupe, but once you get it, it becomes indispensable in your career.
I have priced it competitively but fair at what it would cost me to replace one in today's market-if found.
